Can anyone briefly tell me what the differences between idl
and pv-wave are, or the strengths and weaknesses of pv-wave compared
to IDL. I'm quite familiar with IDL but I don't know much about
pv-wave and after reading the pv-wave brochures, I can't really see a
difference. pv-wave code itself seems identical to idl. Also, Visual
Numerics doesn't seem to have a demo.

Any comments would be appreciated,
