I am using IDL. Version 3.0.0 (IRIX mipseb) on Iris 4D/3D
with Iris 4.0.1. In handling of the bitmap files I
receive the error message of:

% X windows protocol error: (BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)

and display of bitmaps in the widget application does not take place.


This inconvinience does not appear in our installation at Iris/Indigo's.
Could there be a logical reason and a solution for this?
