Hi
I am looking for a routine which writes text into a plot
window (like xyouts) but having additional the additional
feature of the definition of a background box around the
text with a specified color. I would like to use it in
black&white maps where the text sometimes intersects with
coastlines. At those locations I prefer an invisible
coastline but visible text.
Thanks
Theo

I don't know of any routine that has this capability, but Legend (in the
astron library) can plot a text surrounded by a box. It shouldn't be too
hard to change the background colour.
