Matthew Hanson's (matt@ktaadn.com) third question on
widgets in three days reminds me that I have been meaning
to write a short note about net etiquette.
I like to answer newsgroup questions. I spend a lot of time
doing it. I try to research every answer I give. I test the
code to make sure it works. I don't get paid for any of it.
I do it, frankly, because I like IDL and I especially like
to teach others how to use it.
On a newsgroup all you get is free advice, and you can take
it or leave it. But it is obvious when someone spends a bit
of time on something. It is customary, when someone does that,
and when they make the effort to make sure you get the
information by e-mailing the answer to you, that you send them
a short note of thanks. You don't owe it to them. It's just
a nice thing to do.
So, to answer this question:
> Anyone know how to make a widget appear in the exact center of
> it's group leader?
The answer is yes. :-)
Cheers,
David
