Greetings,

I'm currently evaluating these 2 packages, among others, for a vis app, and
I was wondering what readers of this group thought about them. I recently
learned that they were originally the same, but now have diverged quite a
bit. They both seem quite similar to Matlab, though. One important factor
is the ease of developing end-user applications. We are developing an app
that will be used by non-technical people (ie, it must be very easy to use)
to view inspection data and generate reports. Eventually, this app will be
used via the internet since the data will be housed at a central location
while users are global. On the other hand, an app will be needed by the
inspection team for raw sensor data analysis. How difficult is it for
someone to learn either of these 4GLs to develop stand alone apss with nice
GUIs?

thanks,
Jason

P.S. Please Cc your response to jfritz@imetrix.com (our ISP only keeps

I'm afraid to say I went out and bought a CGI Programming
book today. I need to catch up with the 90's. :-)

C'mon David. Don't sell yourself short. You're a terrific geek.
