Has someone tried the newly released educatinal (student's) version
of IDL 5.0? I know about the restrictions concerning array size etc.,
but they probably wouldn't bother me too much.

What I coulnd't get any information about is the license management that
is used under Linux. I suppose, the Windows version will come with the
ususal dongle, whereas the commercial Linux version is either sold as
node-locked or license-sharing. Sure, the home version will be
node-locked, but do you have to call up RSI (or CreaSo in Germany)
every time you change something on your system? I really didn't like
the hassle with the 4.0 version on Linux!

Thanks for any help

Martin
