I have encountered a problem with my own little IDL program that I use
to plot geographical maps, usually in rotated lat-lon systems. I am in
the process of installing IDL 5.0.3 on a linux laptop. I am used to IDL
4.0.1 on SGI. I see a different behaviour of map_set, when saying e.g.
IDL> map_set,0,-90,40,/continents,/cylin,limit=[50.5075,-14.3480
,50.5075,-14.3480,42.3500,47.4990,22.0080,35.9975]
which normally gives a nice map of the Mediterranean area, I now all of
a sudden get a kind of skewed map, though still of roughly the correct
area of the globe. As we rotate around 0,-90 the 0 meridian should still
be vertical on the map, which it is not.
I hope that somebody knows what is going on.
Thanks in advance! /Ole
