Hi,

I remember a post sometime back asking about creating toggle buttons in
pull down menus. Has anyone created a function to do that?.

I rewrote IDL's cw_pdmenu.pro to add 'ON', 'OFF' strings defined by the
user ( I use (+) and (-) respectively ) to the menu elements. It has the
same behavior ( return values, event handling ) as before. It allows both
1-of-many and N-of-many selections. More than that, it has one added
advantage:
In IDL's cw_pdmenu.pro, if the user has an event procedure for a
menu item, eg: '0\Blue\blue_event', procedure 'blue_event' gets the
WIDGET_BUTTON structure not the value defined by setting RETURN_ID,
RETURN_INDEX, .... in cw_pdmenu function. But in this refined version
the return value is defined by cw_pdmenu keywords.

If anyone has a better solution or if someone is interested in this
function let me know.

Thanks,
