Hi Erin,
There is a public procedure called
MAX_ENTROPY
on the W. Landsman IDL Astronomy Library (http://idlastro.gsfc.nasa.gov/).
I don't know if is what are you looking for since this MAX_ENTROPY is
called Maximum Entropy "deconvolution" and not "filtering" but I suspect
that it's just the same thing (i.e. you want the image with the minimum
information in it which is compatible with your raw data, isn't it?).
