Hi Folks,
I am pleased to announce that Research Systems and I have
just signed an agreement that will allow me to teach IDL
courses for them in the coming year.
I am excited by this agreement for several reasons. First,
it means I will have more opportunities to teach IDL courses,
which I like to do more than almost anything else. Second, it
means I will have greater access to IDL developments and
information, including teaching resources, which I will be
able to share with people here in the newsgroup and on my
web page. And third, it means I will have the time and means
to work on additional IDL consulting and training projects.
In particular, I plan to spend much of the next six months
working on a book about image processing with IDL. I hope to
make an announcement in the next few weeks about a colleague
who will be joining me to work on these and other projects.
RSI and I are currently working on a joint IDL training course
schedule that will be published both on my web page and RSI's
web page. Please look for it in the next week or two. In the
meantime, if you would like to book me to teach your next
IDL course, please contact the Training Department at RSI.
They can be reached at training@rsinc.com.
I look forward to seeing you in a training course soon. :-)
Best Regards,
David
P.S. For those of you who may be worried about it, the
agreement specifically includes the use of coyote stories
as a pedagogical method. :-)
