Hi,
What I want to do I thought was quite simple!

I have a image array of data that has been mapped to a UTM projection
(zone 32, ie longitude centre 9degrees). The map resolution is in
kilometers - each pixel is 5km in size. I know the centre pixel latitue
and longitude (and UTM co-ordinates), but not the lat,lon of exery pixel
only their UTM position.

I want to overlay a map using the MAP routine, but using the mercator
package I can only specify max and min lat and lon - or a centre and
zoom. There appears to be no way to specify the limits in other ways.
Even if I did get the max and min lat,lon for the array, would this
still produce a correct map as in UTM the array is not parallel to
lat/lon grid lines?

many thanks

andy
