I gave up using PVWAVE as I do most of my report writing at home
and got fed up with having to shift between, MATLAB, EXCEL and
PVWAVE which I use only for mesh graphs on Unix.

Later on I came across their web site which mentioned that
beta versions were availale for existing users, I presume to
help them find bugs.

Well, we have a unix license so I downloaded a version for
my PC and asked them for the softkey. The reply: you can
have a softkey for the unix beta release, which is no use
to me but not for the Win95 version.

It seems strange that VNI are doing this. If they know people
in my position who are undertaking research towards a PhD may
start to use their product at university, surely the best way
for them to get sales is win people over to their product by
getting them to use it, and no doubt others working in research
so that when we move on we stick with their product.

MATLAB does this why not VNI? A cut down version at a price
affordable to students would be a good compromise.
