Hi Folks,
This is a commercial message (although humbly offered in
terms of a public service announcement). Those of you offended by
that can either delete it now or send your flames to me at
the address below. :-)
Many of you have contacted me to express an interest in learning
some of the object-oriented programming techniques I have been
talking about recently on this newsgroup. I wanted to let you
know that I still have room in my Object-Oriented Programming
course that I will be teaching in LA June 21-24. (I know,
LA in June is not my favorite idea either, but on the bright
side, things will be happening at the beach!)
This is shaping up to be a smallish class, which means we
will move quickly and cover a lot of ground. You will have
the benefit of a lot of personal attention. :-)
I'm planning to write a number of powerful programs using
object-oriented techniques and IDL direct graphics commands.
We will probably create something very similar to the
plot and window objects I've been raving about on this
newsgroup.
In addition, we will be spending about half our time learning
the new IDL object graphics system. This system is so
completely different from what you may be used to in IDL,
that I think the introduction is essential if you want to
get a jump start on using this functionality.
If you are interested, please contact the RSI training
department as soon as possible. They can be reached at
training@rsinc.com. They can give you the details about
the course.
Best Regards,
David
