I saw a posting the other day regarding the write_gif /multiple
statement. And it reminded me that I wanted to ask if anyone had
written a util to take some raw data files or gifs or whatever and make
one big animated gif out of them.

Preferably, I would like to work with files and not from one huge
volume of data in memory.

Thanks,

Do you mean Gif89? Gifcon can constuct multiple gifs to single animated gif.

Well, the reason I posted to this news group is that I wanted something
written in IDL because of the work that must be done on the images
before converting them.

I looked up the 89a format and am going to write it myself. Won't be
hard.

Thanks for the input though.
