The new ENVI service pack (3.0b) improved the orthorectification of
aerial photos. Unfortunately, I still encounter serious problems
rectifying my scanned 35mm film (recorded at 35 mm focal distance). The
result looks like some radial dilatation with only the image center
being well referenced. Coordinates of image locations do not correspond
to the coordinates entered for these points as GCPs.

Has anybody encountered such effects? Any idea whether this may be
related to the unorthodox fiducial point locations (image corners)?

One other thing: the coarse cell size of my DEM results in square blocks
of image cells in the rectified image. There seems to be a slight shift
between groups of pixels, even if the different underlying DEM cell
values are equal. can this be avoided?

Thanks, Tom
