Dave,

But it is inconsistent! It changes directory if I open the file
from within IDL (which is already running), however, if I open
the file and also start IDL by double clicking on a .pro file in
an explorer window it does NOT change directories (as it used
to under 5.0). I do understand that some will like it one way
and not the other and I appreciate the ability to configure it as
a preference. I just want it to do the same thing which ever way
I choose to open a file.
