Not quite like this, but I did find a bug in ENVI's stats on ROI->"Mean for
all regions" when some ROIs had been edited in certain ways. Quite obscure.
This from the GUI (i.e., not from within a custom program), in ENVI 3. The
crash was an "out of range subscript" error. I reported it to RSI.

Your bug could be related; I suggest that you report it to RSI.
