IDL is a great package, and you can call it from FORTRAN. However, it will not
be a simple line-for-line translation of the DISSPLA calls. A package which
might come closer to that is NCAR graphics, but I have not used it, so I am not
sure. If the graphics parts of your program are reasonably well isolated then
converting to IDL would not be hard. If the program is less well structured it
may be a bit of work.
