Replacement for DISSPLA - IDL or PVwave? [message #13376] Fri, 06 November 1998 00:00

I'm working in a predominately VAX/VMS6.2 environment and have many
FORTRAN programs with calls to the DISSPLA (Computer Assoc) plotting
package. It seems that Computer Assoc have decided not to upgrade the
DISSPLA software to be Y2K compliant on the VAX platform (Alpha only) so
we are looking at migrating to IDL or PVWAVE. I have no experience with
either product although I understand that IDL does not provide a
callable interface to FORTRAN or any programming language. I would
appreciate comments from members of this group to assist with evaluating
a replacement for DISSPLA.

Cheers,
