Over the weekend we opened my wife's B'day present. Lego's Mindstorms.
A 200$ Lego box with a little computer that accepts inputs from the outside
world (two touch sensors, one light), and acts on it (two motors).

The programming is cool, and _event_ driven (done on a PC, and then downloaded
to the little monster). Thank god for all that
widget programming I did, so that now I can even program this.

Really cool toy. Kids were amazed even with the simplest robot going
back and forth. Maybe now they can learn what computers are, robots are,
and even learn to program the thing!
