IDL call_external on DEC Alpha [message #1419]

I would like to know if anyone has used the call_external feature of
IDL with the DEC Alpha running OSF1. The Alpha supports dynamic
linking, but I haven't found any examples in the IDL distribution on
how to set up and compile external C subroutines under OSF1. I use
call_external on the IBM RS6000 and Sun and would like to port the
same code to the DEC Alpha.

Any advice or examples would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
