The statement

openw,lun,fname,/get_lun,/f77,/segmented

works just fine under IDL 4.0.1, but fails under IDL 5.1.1 with the
message:

% OPENW: The F77_UNFORMATTED keyword can only be used with stream
files.

I am running VMS 7.1 on a DEC alpha. The old fortran code this file is
being
written for expects a segmented file. It cannot/will not accept a stream
file,
and needs the f77 record information.

Is there a simple workaround?
