Well I guess I'll have to mention Octave, available from

http://www.che.wisc.edu/octave/

which includes binaries for cranky guys like me. It's supposedly more
Matlab-like than IDL-like (I haven't tried it).

Yorick is also available. I've tried it out, and it's very IDL-like.
