As soon as I get a chance I will put an ascii text version out there.

files?

My idea with the shareware is that I will put the save files on my web site
for anyone to download. The source code will stay with the author and it
will be up to them to decide how to distribute it (and what to charge).

My feeling is that if anyone wants to make a mod to the shareware programs
then that is when they should pay some small fee for the source code. Of
course, each author can decide otherwise.

For the present time I will do all the hosting for free as I really think this
will benefit us all.

Hi Ronn, I appreciate the news about the IDL book. I checked out your
web page but was unable to read the forward and table of contents because
they are in WORD. I work on a Unix machine, which has an emulator somewhere
which maybe I can find and use. But given that a lot of people here use
machines other than windows, is it possible to put the document in another
format? Or maybe have some sort of option setting?

I also have a question about shareware. Is it only in the form of .sav files?
Will they have to be used as supplied with no ability to change anything?

Thanks for the info!
Rose
