The code for bitwise setting / checking can be found in the file

Again, notice that in many cases, when you use

MY_CBs = CW_BRGOUP(parent, ........ /NONEXCL)

then calling WIDGET_CONTROL, MY_CBs, get_value=cb_state

places a vector of button states in the cb_state variable. I found this
to be not flexible enough, and I like the ability of 1-line IF-checking
with hc_checkbox.pro
