FORTRAN Sbrs. to Read .xdr Formatted Files? [message #1557]

Our workgroup currently uses IDL to work with tons of satellite
data. Most of the data is being stored in the ".xdr" format. Is
there a set of FORTRAN subroutines that can read this ".xdr" format?
If so, where can I obtain them? We would like everyone to be able to
access the same set of data via their own FORTRAN programs, no matter
what platform they are running on. We are working with about
10GB of data.
