IDL Folks:
I'm starting out with IDL, so this might be an easy fix. I believe,
though, that it's a bug in IDL 5.2.

In the docs for Read_Tiff, there is an ORDER keyword that looks like it
should be an integer from 0 to 8, corresponding to the ordering of the
pixels in the image.

When I use this keyword, however, I get a long variable that is 21056 for a
512 x 512 pixel image, and it was about 49000 for a 1024 x 1024 image. So,
it seems like a bug to me. This happens with TIFF images from two different
sources, Adobe Photoshop 4.0 is one.

Any help or ideas?

Also, does RSI read this group? Is there a place for bug reports on the
web?

Thanks in advance,
Dave Hirsch

http://www.rsinc.com/services/index.cfm says:
"The comp.lang.idl-pvwave newsgroup - an active, independent forum where
users exchange ideas and
code. Research Systems occasionally provides input to this forum, but
does not regulate it." (occasionaly means very rarely in my experience
...)

For bug reports send email to support@rsinc.com
