What kind of IDL programmer are you? :-)
It is "reasonable", but its not the sort of thing you are
likely to bang out in a half hour when you are just getting
started with IDL. It sounds an awful lot like the kind of
assignment brand new IDL programmers want to tackle as their
first project. It would be sort of like taking on a roll-top
desk as your first woodworking project. It can be done, but...
This is certainly not *that* hard. But not a novice project
either. Good luck with it.
