IDL access to MSDOS-formatted JAZ drive under Solaris [message #16370] Mon, 19 July 1999 00:00

I have a set of large files (@ 200-500 MB) on JAZ disks and want to access the
data in the files under Solaris. Are there any IDL tools to do this? The other
options I have are the following:

1. Mount JAZ drive on Linux system and export the filesystem (slow; burdens
network)
2. Pay the disk space price and copy the files to Unix using the Mtools
available under Solaris (wastes disk space and time)

If anybody has dealt with this or has other possibilities, I'd appreciate
hearing them, especially some way to use IDL's associate variable or some other
IDL-based method.

Thanks, Fred
