I looked at lmstat, but I
 couldn't see how to check if all licenses were in use.</BLOCKQUOTE>
I think it's possible to use a shellscriptto execute the lmstat redirecting
the output and to search  for the string
 giving license available information and to do the appropriate action
(run IDL or exit).
 But I think it's a piggy way.
