Hello,
I understand IDL 5.2 has functions to read/write HDF-EOS files as
well as HDF files.
I am unable to locate the HDF-EOS IDL functions in the help files, or
any documentation.
I would appreciate if if anyone would point me to any web area that has
IDL programs or functions relating to HDF-EOS files, or to any
documentation
relating to it.

I've created IDL routines to read MODIS Level-1B data, but I did not use
HDF-EOS:
