I come across this question when I'm reading the IDL menu.
I do a quick search but don't find any explanation on their difference.
I only know that widget is even driven and that's all. Could anyone
explain the pros and cons in using window / widget and their difference?

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the answer. I sometimes use widget_draw as output window (like
open->display file). That's why I mix them up.
