We eventually want to be able to build X-Windows widgets for scientists
who don't want to deal with any of UNIX including the vi editor, etc. So
what I would like is to build something like a simple spreadsheet program
with IDL widgets such that a user can move around in the data and make
changes and then make plots of the resulting data.

I'd like not to reinvent the wheel if someone has already worked out
a spreadsheet-style interface and would be willing to share the code
with me. If so, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks in advance.
