PV-Wave has routine DC_READ_TIFF (and DC_WRITE_TIFF) which is supposed
to do just that.

In IDL there is a routine in the User's Library called TIFF_READ. I don't know
about PV-Wave.

The IDL USERLIB has a TIFF_READ (and TIFF_WRITE) procedure. I thought that
library was included with IDL, but I don't know about Wave.
