Is it possible to extract from a Contour object the vertex data of the
individual line segments that constitute the curves? If not, is there
any way to 'export' a contour object?

Thanks again

I am not sure what a contour object is, unless it is a IDLgrPolyline
object in disguise. If it is a polygon object, then see page 86 of the
OOG user manual for the description of 'Creating Contour Plots with
Polylines'. The contour info generated by the CONTOUR procedure can
be written to a file.
