Hi!

I am wondering if anyone has determined how, when contouring 2-d data,
to fill the space between contours with lines, cross-hatching, or a pattern
of dots (instead of a solid color). I looked into this in the past but
never really got anywhere. I am most interested in a technique which
accomplishes the task to a postscript device, but I'd just like to know
how to do-- period. It's one of those things that is done nicely in
NCAR graphics and many other packages (including GEMPAK and other homegrown
programs here at NASA Goddard), but I've never seen anyone accomplish
this in IDL. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Andy
