hi,

I am runing idl 3.5.1 on a spac station with Open look and I am trying
to get some information about resizing widgets. It appears they they
scale in extent (or at least width wise) Is it possible to give these
widgets relative positioning, and maybe even relative sizing?

Also, if anyone would like to comment about their experience of
converting widgets between 3.1 and 3.5.1 I would be interested. Seems
some things work a little different.

ALSO, COMPUND WIDGET question, or maybe not compund widget question. If
I build an application with widgets, and I want saw a draw widgets
events to be handled seperately from the rest of the application, do I
have to make it a compund widget so that its events can be trapped
differently and handled by a routine I set up within a compound widget?
Yes I am using XMANAGER and am therefore trying not to use /EVENT_PRO
keyword for widget_draw (or at least I think thats what the 10,000
warnings say)

thanks a bunch for any input on this stuff,

-stephen Strebel
