All,

I have just posted some freeware routines that some of you may find
useful. Randall Frank has provided a set of C DLM's that add the
following functionality to IDL.

* Sockets API for Windows and Unix
* Shared memory API for Windows and Unix
* An interface to gzip compression for files and variables
* An async sound playing API for Windows (DirectSound based)
* A polygon mesh decimation routine
* A TWAIN interface for Windows
* An array slabbing API

The complete source code, readme file, dll's and dlm's are contained in
two zip files for downloading. Go to www.rlkling.com under the freeware
tab and go to the DLM section to get them.
