The 2nd generation IDL Speed Survey, IDLSpecII, is here!

IDLSpecII fixes many of the problems inherent in the first survey, and
adds several new features.

http://www.astro.cornell.edu/idlspec/is2.html

Visit this site to read all about it and learn how to enter your system
into the survey. If you entered the old survey, please consider
re-entering.

Note: IDLSpecII uses a special-purpose email address for automatic
entry processing: idlspec@astro.cornell.edu. Please do not mail IS2
results to my address.

Thanks and happy computing.

JD

P.S. As with any debut, this one may have a few glitches. Let me know
if you encounter difficulties, or if you have any suggestions.

Very nice programme.... why doesn't it tell me the result of the

Cheers

This isn't calculated by the downloaded program, since the benchmark is relative
to systems which may, in the future, change. You must first email your results
to idlspec@astro.cornell.edu to become part of the survey. Remember, this isn't
just a benchmarking tool (which is what the time_test suite of routines is),
it's a speed survey! Your entries are processed automatically every evening, so
look for it the next day.

Simply visit http://www.astro.cornell.edu/idlspec/is2.html and check the graph
at the bottom of the page for your system. Clicking on the symbols takes you to
the ranking page, and there is another link there for it also.

JD
