Could you give me any cue to perform curve detection in grayscale images
using IDL?

Hi,

it is not clear to me what you would like to do. Possibly it is a similar
problem
as detecting a contrail on a satellite image!? If this is the case then you
may
check out what Herman Mannstein from DLR in Germany has been doing:
