We are looking for some specialized plotting software.
The requirements are that we can:
1. Call the software from the command line of a UNIX shell
prompt. (Actually, we are calling it from within a perl
script, but that is the same thing.)
2. The software run on standard Sun O.S. (ie BSD UNIX)
or Solaris.
3. The software is able to produce 3D ribbon graphs as
well as 3D pie charts with up to 8 y variables plotted
against a single x variable.
4. The software is able to take tab delimited ASCII data
for input and put out EPS files for output. When we say
EPS, we are not talking about bitmaps embedded in a Postscript
header and footer. We are talking about software that will
output full Postscript.
We have a healthy budget for this and as yet have not been
able to find the right package. Jgraph and Gnuplot have the
correct interface, input and output, but the graphs produced
are no where near sophisticated enough.
All comments welcome.
