I am trying to print a color plot to a PCL device, but it comes out black and
white. When I create the same plot using PS device (i.e

SET_PLOT,'PS'
plot,indgen(100),color=50
device,/close
spawn,'lpr -Pps idl.ps'
)

the line comes out dithered (and when many lines are plotted using different
colors it's easy to tell which one is which). But if I do the same thing using
SET_PLOT,'PCL'
the lines come out solid black. I know the printer can dither lines (it's a
LaserJet III) and I can create the same plot in Excel for Windows, print it
out as PCL file, and it will come out properly dithered. Can I make IDL do the
same?
