Hello.
I'm not sure if this questions exactly belongs here but...
Does anyone have any experience running IDL on a Mac using MacX? It
seems to pretty consistently crash my MacX, even though other color X
programs (xgraph, emacs with color, Xmosaic etc...) run fine.
Does anyone have any hints ... I'm pretty Mac ignorant, so if it is a
fix on my Mac end, the more explicit you could be the better.
Thanks

I didn't have any problems running IDL using MacX until I upgraded MacX to
version 1.2. Now when I start IDL it frequently, but not always, kills all
the running clients (including IDL). I called Apple. They were friendly,
but not helpful.
The error message is: IO error 73 - communication reset by peer.
I don't know the solution. I fear it may be some MacTCP communication
problem, but I don't have time to try different combinations of MacTCP
versions, etc.. If anyone else knows the answer I would like to hear as
well.
