Well, you dug yourself in quite deep - so I cancelled my followup..
However, my draft included a statment along the lines of ".....is
used by scientists, while engineers use..."
Now I'll stop.

I think (hope?) David Fanning was trying to say "Stop using your
secret decoder ring when posting messages". It produces messages that
look like the one below, when viewed with any of the perfectly good
news clients that don't do HTML.. I've taken the liberty to "destroy"
the html tags in the reply to be sure that you see approximately how
this appears on my screen...Pretty unreadable, right?
So, when posting to this newsgroup, *I* for one would very much like
to see people turn off HTML formatting of their messages...
Also, I couldn't quite find any IDL stuff on the web page..?

Whoops, sorry. I didn't want to step on anyone's toes.
I realized Sweden was different from Norway (especially
after I had enjoyed that Oslo hospitality), but from
where I live the "land of darkness" is anywhere "up there". :-)
Cheers,
David
P.S. Let's just say I remember trudging back from the
University to my hotel room in the dark and drizzle
about this time of year. :-)

Uhm. I believe Pavel wrote *Sweden*, not Norway... Might not be a big
deal to you, but I'll let it pass just this once, since you called it
"the land of darkness" >:-)
