Help with ENVI's CLASS_DOIT? [message #19146] Mon, 28 February 2000 00:00

Howdy,

I'm attempting to use ENVI's CLASS_DOIT procedure, but am finding the
documentation rather deficient. I'm trying to use the ISODATA
unsupervised classification technique, but am having difficulty
understanding some of the keywords. The help file identifies the keyword
ISO_SPLIT_STDV as required, but I get a "keyword not allowed" error when
trying to run. If I omit the ISO_SPLIT_STDV keyword, I get an error
midway through execution saying that the variable ISO_SPLIT_STD (note
difference in spelling) is not defined. So I define the ISO_SPLIT_STD
keyword, and find that I also have to define the MERGE_THRESH keyword,
noted in the help file as only required for K-Means classification! Even
with all of this, my results are rather fishy. Often, my result is an
image classified to a uniform value of 1. However, if I attempt the
classification with the same parameters from the menu, it works fine.
Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of using the menus all of the
time. Can anybody help me?

Thanks,
