IDL and 3D Image [message #19251]

Hi:
I currently worked for a company to produce the chemical images. We
already have the 2D image, now we are planning to display 3D image.
The image looks like a blob scattered around the 3 dimensional axis.
I just tried to find a s/w package to work on this. I have tried Java 3D
API, but it provide more graphical 3D display, not support image display,
which means I don't want to change my raw 3D image to roaster image and
display, it really take a long time and not a good approach.
Can someone tell me IDL can give me a good support to display my 3
dimentional array directly?
