Hi R. Bauer, hi J.D. Smith, hi Martin Schultz,

thanx a lot for your help. In the meantime it was possible to overcome
this problem using a hint of Paul van Delst: I removed the card and
started the machine, getting the same crazy hostid. But after sticking
the card back into the PC IDL (as well as Mathematica) are working
fine again. It's very logic for me ;-) but it is still working...
