Hi

Do anybody have experience in proccessing AVHRR 1km data using ENVI
software?
I'm trying to acheive a "natural color" global map from this
data.
Right now, I could get a *somewhat* rough result with this assignment:
band 1 vis = red
band 2 nir = green
inverted band 3 ir = blue
It might be possible to extract better rgb channels using a combination
of different band for each channel.
Also need to remove some defects and artifact like clouds.
Here I've performed a difference of the resulting channels from
data of
succeding time periods which worked not so bad but at the expense
of
disturbing the whole dataset which is not what I want.
I think there is more specific proccess that could be applied for
this
but since I'm not a remote sensing specialist, looking at function
like
"confusion matrix" just confuse me...... ;-)
Maybe there is already idl script for could removal based on a
pixel by
pixel analysis of succeding dataset?

Any help from experienced ENVI user willing to share a bit of knowledge
will be greatly appreciated as well as any pointer to web pages
on that
matter will be welcome.
Thx
