The /COUNTRIES keyword for some IDL mapping routines (e.g.,
MAP_CONTINENTS) draws the political boundaries as of 1993. I think the
data IDL uses is reformatted from the CIA country borders database.
Does anyone know where I could get a more up to date database of
political borders for IDL mapping? I haven't been able to locate
anything on the web. Does anyone know if RSI's IDL 5.4 release will
have an updated database for political boundaries?
It's kind of a shame to have a really nice map display, but some of the
borders are incorrect (out of date). Thanks.
