hi,

Not sure about pv-wave, but IDL has some routines from the Numerical
Recipes that do wavelet stuff:
nr_wtn()

I implemented steerable filters in PV~WAVE to do subpixel line
location.
(Freeman & Adelson, IEEE PAMI Sept 1991)
This is not exactly standard wavelet analysis but I like it better.
